If you've noticed we've been a little extra busy lately... you're absolutely right. 😊
July and August are what we lovingly call "busy season" here at Lolly & Laddie.
Unlike traditional retailers who order inventory months in advance and hope it sells, much of what we offer is through preorders. That means we're designing collections, finalizing products, taking orders, and then submitting those quantities to our manufacturer after the preorder closes.
This time of year is especially busy because we're working on two of the biggest seasons of the year: Halloween and Christmas!
By opening these preorders in the summer, we're able to get production started early enough for everything to be manufactured, shipped overseas, inspected, and delivered to you with plenty of time to enjoy it during the holiday season.
It may seem a little funny to be talking about Christmas while you're still sweating through August, but in the bamboo world, we're always thinking a season ahead!
It's a lot of work, but it's also one of our favorite times of the year. Watching everyone guess the themes, seeing the excitement during reveals, and reading your comments as each collection launches reminds us why we love what we do.
Once our preorder windows close, the real waiting game begins while production gets underway. During that time, we'll continue sharing updates, checking in with our manufacturer, and keeping you informed every step of the way.
