Balancing Bottles & Business

(Life as a New Mom and Small Business Owner)

If you’ve ever tried to answer emails while rocking a baby with your foot, you probably get it. Motherhood and business ownership are both full-time jobs that never really clock out.

Becoming a mom has been the most beautiful, humbling, and transformative experience, but it’s also completely changed the way I run Lolly & Laddie. I used to think I was busy before… and then came motherhood. 😅

Learning to Let Go (Just a Little)

Before having my baby, I wanted to do it all: every email, every post, every package. I poured everything into this business, and honestly, I still do. During my pregnancy, I worked full time, right up until the day I gave birth. Looking back, I’m proud of that determination, but I’ve also learned that slowing down doesn’t mean falling behind.

Motherhood has taught me that it’s okay to ask for help, to rest, and to accept that not everything can be perfect all the time. There are days when I’m proud of how much I get done and others when I feel like I’m barely keeping up. But I’m learning to give myself grace because both roles matter deeply, and both deserve my heart.

Finding Joy in the Juggle

There’s something really special about watching your baby nap while you design new prints or package orders, knowing that they’re growing up surrounded by love and creativity.

The best part? When customers share photos of their babies in our pajamas, it reminds me exactly why I do this. It’s full circle, from one mama to another, creating something that brings comfort to families like mine.

What Balance Really Looks Like

Balance doesn’t mean having it all together. It means finding moments of peace in the middle of the chaos. Some days that looks like a clean inbox... other days it’s just a warm bottle and a sleeping baby, and that’s enough.

I’ve learned that rest is productive. Growth doesn’t always mean faster or bigger. Sometimes it means gentler, slower, and more intentional.

Grateful for the Community

Through all of it, this community has been such a blessing. So many of you have shown understanding, patience, and kindness when life gets a little crazy behind the scenes. You remind me daily that I’m not alone in this. There’s strength in shared stories and grace in giving yourself room to breathe.

Running Lolly & Laddie while being a mom isn’t easy, but it’s one of the greatest joys of my life. Every order, every message, and every kind word helps make this dream possible for me and for my family.

So, to all the mamas balancing a million things at once: you’re doing better than you think. And if no one’s told you today, you’re doing an amazing job. 💕

With love and gratitude,
Madison, Owner
